Blackberry 9630
washington dc ob gyn -
Boy Genius's tipsters are telling them that an upcoming BlackBerry 9630 is Verizon's world edition phone, meaning you can travel overseas and DO STUFF WITH IT.
BG says it's going to have "CDMA 1x, EV-DO Rev. A, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, and 2100MHz UMTS". The OS might be 5.0, but might be 4.71, it won't have Wi-Fi, it might come around May/June and it might have a 3.2-megapixel camera. Or it might not have a camera at all! Who the hell knows! [Boy Genius] It looks like the Blackberry Niagara's model number will be 9630 and it will be a "world edition" because it will support CDMA and GSM with variants of 3G for both standards. The big issue, however, is that it won't have WiFi. Yes it sucks, and we still wonder why Verizon keeps castrating cool phones, but hey, we're on T-Mobile anyway. Takeway:

Kings Button Luxury iPhone
Story posted on: March 06, 2009
Austrian jeweler Peter Aloisson is back with another luxury iPhone, this time known as the "Kings Button". Why is it called so? Well, the whole focus of this diamond-encrusted iPhone is the monstrous 6.6-carat diamond located on top of the handset's Home button. In addition, the case has been remade with 18-carat yellow, white and rose gold. The other 138 diamonds are all rated "F" in terms of color, so they aren't exactly the most translucent ones in the world, but anything better like D will see the price rise above the already insane $2.5 million.
HTC Devices Might Be Banned In Germany?
Story posted on: March 06, 2009
HTC might have run into a spot of bother over in Germany, as reports are surfacing that they have lost a patent violation suit to IPCom GmbH who claims that HTC has to pay license fees for some UMTS patents that are used in its Windows Mobile and Android handsets. A German court has confirmed that HTC infringed on the “100 series” patents, which were reportedly bought by OPCom from Robert Bosch GmbH back in 2006. If HTC doesn’t come to an agreement with IPCom GmbH, they might just be forced to stop selling UMTS smartphones in Germany, which includes the T-Mobile G1 and HTC Magic. From Uberphones.
Palm Pre To Snatch iPhone Users
Story posted on: March 06, 2009
Roger McNamee, founding partner of Elevation Partners who have a 25% stake in Palm has gone on record to state that huge swathes of iPhone users will be switching to the Palm Pre, since the two-year contracts of the iPhone will be over when the Pre is released. He said: “June 29, 2009, is the two-year anniversary of the first shipment of the iPhone. Not one of those people will still be using an iPhone a month later. Think about it — if you bought the first iPhone, you bought it because you wanted the coolest product on the market. Your two-year contract has just expired. Look around. Tell me what they’re going to buy.” It makes a little sense of course, but will the Palm Pre be enough to stop the iPhone’s momentum? From Uberphones.

nokia phone price - Nokia offering you the latest nokia models along with best and cheap nokia phone prices in the world
Somebody ought to get a plumber in organizations these days - more and more news are getting leaked out before the actual product is released, and sometimes this helps build up anticipation but at other times, it could dampen expectation. Today we shall look at a major national retailer's stock sheet for the upcoming few weeks, and it looks as though AT&T has the lead over its rivals in terms of new releases including the "Jackfrost", LG Zenon and the long rumored E71x. Verizon will be offering the Intrigue Silver while Sprint will roll out the Treo Pro. Last but not least, we'll have Nokia's N95 to come unlocked - pretty weird eh, since the N95 has been out for a long time already.
DoCoMo Phone Controls Sony Rolly
Story posted on: March 06, 2009
The Sony Rolly did not really take off as expected, but that doesn't mean it was a failure, either. To tell you the truth, I don't know anyone who owns the Rolly at this point in time, so either this isn't too popular in this part of the world, or I don't have enough affluent friends with a penchant for weird gizmos. For those living in Japan, they will be pleased to know that the DoCoMo P906i, P-02A, SH-01A, SH-03A or SH-04A is able to control the Rolly directly from the handset thanks to the wonders of Bluetooth connectivity. There's no real point in this function, but it is still cool to know that your phone has yet another function for you to work with.
T-Mobile Could Ditch Windows Mobile For Android
Story posted on: March 06, 2009
Word has it that T-Mobile could possibly be favoring the Android platform from Google in due time, breaking up with Windows Mobile in the process. Apparently, Reinhard Clemens, board member at Deutsche Telekom (the company behind T-Mobile), recently mentioned that “Android will be a Windows of future”. He even dissed Windows Mobile for its power guzzling ability, while giving bouquets to Android for enabling mobile operators to remain somewhat independent from hardware manufacturers. While this doesn't mean that T-Mobile will be steering clear of Windows Mobile devices, it does point toward a more Android-friendly policy in the near future.

Bell Issues Statement For BlackBerry 8230
Story posted on: March 05, 2009
Bell has issued a statement for its recently launched BlackBerry 8230 handsets only if they're running on the OS 4.6.1.162 build. Bell customers who are affected will receive an SMS that instructs them on how to upgrade the OS to the latest 4.6.1.182 build. Stores throughout the country are already receiving updated units even as you read this, so sales of newer units should not be affected by this problem. If you're already running on the latest build, just ignore this and live your life as usual. It still amazes us till this day that such a boo-boo can occur in the manufacturing line. Ah well, guess whenever there are humans around, there is always room for some margin of error.

Solomobi has come up with its latest handset - the Cool8800C. This phone is weirdly named, and hailing from China, you can't really expect it to shine in terms of software although the hardware segment of things have improved over the years compared to the first generation of China-originated handsets. Dual SIM cards are supported, while an analog TV tuner allows you to use this in Third World countries as you travel, checking out what's going on with the local TV channels. The flip out display and keypad is the outstanding feature here, as doing so will reveal a larger display underneath alongside dedicated gaming controls. Unfortunately, there are only three pre-loaded classic NES titles on this, so you'll need to load ROMs yourself via a memory card. Would you fork out $140 for the Cool8800C? We'd rather get a new DS Lite instead and stick to an old phone model.
Slimmest Bluetooth Headset At CeBIT
Story posted on: March 05, 2009
Check out this Bluetooth headset that was making its rounds at CeBIT 2009 - it measured a mere 4mm thin, making it the thinnest in the world - for now. The special aluminum casting holds together the latest CVC echo and noise cancellation technology so that your conversations will remain crystal clear even with background noise. In addition, despite being so slim, it sips very little juice, offering a talk time of 3 hours and a standby time of 50 hours - pretty impressive for something that measures a mere 49.3mm x 15.8mmx 4mm. You can also plug this Bluetooth headset directly into the PC whenever it runs out of juice, doing away with the need for yet another power adapter. No idea on when this will be unleashed upon the masses, and for how much.
Alltel Offers Palm Treo Pro
Story posted on: March 05, 2009
Alltell Wireless is first off the blocks where the Palm Treo Pro is concerned, beating out Sprint as expected. Available at Alltel's online and retail stores, this CDMA version was already available as a pre-order last night, beating the March 5 deadline by a few hours. The CDMA version of the Treo Pro will be similar in most hardware specifications as its GSM model, although the processor has been bumped up to a beefier 528MHz while the internal memory hits 512MB. Other features include a touchscreen display, 2 megapixel camera, GPS navigation, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth support, 3G and a microSD memory card slot. The Alltel Treo Pro will run on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and will retail for $199 after a $125 mail-in rebate and a 2-year contract. Well, at least each purchase online comes with a free Bluetooth headset.
Chairman Watch Phone Goes Green
Story posted on: March 05, 2009
This is weird - Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin's Chairman watch phone uses several similar kinetic energy technology that is pretty common in timepieces of today, meaning we could be heralding an age where phone chargers are no longer an issue whenever you go traveling, an unlike solar-powered phones, you can juice up your handset even when it is pitch black at night. This inherently green smartphone will ship unlocked, and we will only know more about the Chairman when it is officially unveiled at the Baselworld watch expo later this March. No prizes for guessing whether this handset will cost a bomb or not.
Nokia And Verizon Work On Secret 4G Phone
Story posted on: March 05, 2009
Nokia and Verizon will surprisingly get to work together on a new touchscreen device that will run on the upcoming 4G LTE network. Experience is the best teacher more often than not, and after seeing both parties' financial books hurt by AT&T's successful exclusive deal with the iPhone, both Nokia and Verizon hope to lead the charge where next generation wireless technology is concerned in an exclusive partnership. We have no idea on what this phone will be or look like, but it is encouraging to see the Finnish cell phone manufacturer do its best to stay ahead of the curve. A clear departure from the way Nokia does things as they normally don't tie themselves down to just one carrier, but extraordinary times calls for extraordinary measures.
Internet Explorer Mobile To Be Available on Windows Mobile 6.1
Story posted on: March 05, 2009
We once thought that only Windows Mobile 6.5 devices could benefit from the new Pocket Internet Explorer, but Microsoft just said that some Windows Mobile 6.1 devices could also feature it, under some conditions. First, the device mush have 128MB of RAM and a 400Mhz+ CPU . Secondly, it is up to the handset maker to make this feature available. You will not be able to download a .cab file to install it as an normal application.
We tested Internet Explorer Mobile 6 recently (read WM 6.5 review) and we liked it a lot better than what's in Windows Mobile 6.1 today... [via pocketnow]
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Fixed
Story posted on: March 05, 2009
Nokia has announced that it has identified (and fixed) the problem that was introduced in the configuration of the 5800 touch phone for U.S wireless networks.
"We have concluded this was an isolated situation related to a configuration change in the North American variant,"... "We have now adjusted the configuration and will resume sales shortly." (Nokia)
The first customers started to report issues last week after having difficulties connecting to AT&T's 3G network. Nokia considers the 5800 XpressMusic as its first "mass market" touch screen phone.

Niagara is the BlackBerry 9630 World Edition BGR posted some new details yesterday about the eagerly-anticipated upcoming full-qwerty BlackBerry, codenamed "Niagra". Word is the device model for the Niagra will be the 9630. The device is a bit of a Bold/Curve 8900 hybrid, so both 9030 or 8930, while sorta logical device model extensions, don't quite fit the bill. The 9630 model number makes me really curious as to what the branding of the device will ultimately be. I sort of always assumed this would be the CDMA Bold, but maybe it will go to market otherwise. Other BIG news for at least the Verizon version of the 9630... it'll be a World Edition phone and apparently will NOT have WiFi. We know that at least some pre-production versions of the Niagra have had WiFi on them, so if Verizon releases it without WiFi you know it's not a technical limitation on RIM's part. BGR's source also said the OS on the device is version 4.7.1, though depending on release date it could hit as the re-branded OS 5.0 (tied to the release of BES 5.0). 4.7.1 seems a little strange to read when you think of the Storm's touchscreen OS as being version 4.7, but it makes sense when you take the Application Center (not app storefront) into account. Thinking back to my interview with RIM's Jeff McDowell at Dev Con, it was said that the Application Center would ship on all devices with 4.7 and newer, and I'm sure Verizon and other carriers will want it on this device. |
